Missed Call Revenue Calculator
Missed calls don't show up on any report — they just don't happen. Put a real number on what they cost your business in about a minute.
Peak hours, after hours, two calls at once. Most owners underestimate this.
Pick your industry for a typical figure, or type your own.
Of missed calls, share that are first-time callers.
Of answered new-customer calls, share you win.
Around $100,800 a year — roughly 7 new customers a month walking to a competitor who picked up.
That demand already exists — it's reaching your phone. An AI voice agent answers every call, so the routine ones stop slipping through.
Estimate only — a rough figure to size the problem, not a quote.
How the number is worked out
The calculator uses the same plain four-to-five-number method any owner can run by hand:
- Calls per month your business receives.
- Share you miss — after hours, peak times, two calls at once. Most owners underestimate this.
- Share that are new customers — not every caller is a sale; some are existing customers or vendors.
- Close rate — of answered new-customer calls, how many you win.
- Average customer value — what a new customer is worth to you, often over the whole relationship.
Multiplied together, those give estimated lost revenue per month. It's an estimate to size the problem — your phone records hold the exact missed-call count. We walk through the same method in what missed calls really cost a small business.
Questions about the calculator
How is the missed-call cost calculated?
It multiplies five numbers: calls per month, the share you miss, the share of missed calls that are new customers, your close rate on answered new-customer calls, and the average value of a new customer. The result is estimated lost revenue per month, then ×12 for the year.
Is the estimate accurate?
It's a rough estimate, only as good as the numbers you enter — it's meant to size the problem, not to be a quote. Use conservative inputs and it still tends to surprise people. For an exact figure, your phone records show your real missed-call count.
What counts as a missed call?
Any inbound call that doesn't reach a person — rung out, hit voicemail, or came in while the line was busy. Most happen after hours, during peak times, or when two calls land at once.
Can an AI voice agent really recover these calls?
For the routine calls that make up most volume — booking, common questions, lead qualification — yes: an AI voice agent answers every one, 24/7. Genuinely complex or sensitive calls still belong with a person. Book a free call and we'll give you an honest read.
